About the Album
By Any Means, The Album is the soundtrack to BY ANY MEANS, featuring music from and inspired by the film. Curated by Anzie Blue Records’ country artist and GRAMMY®-nominated songwriter Pynk Beard, the album brings together artists across generations and genres to celebrate the timeless sound and spirit of the 1960s.
BY ANY MEANS, a Paramount Pictures crime thriller starring Mark Wahlberg and Emmy® winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, arrived in theaters September 4. Set against the backdrop of the Civil Rights era, the film follows an unlikely partnership between a young Black FBI agent and a notorious mafia hitman as they investigate the murders of civil rights leaders in 1960s Mississippi.
At the center of the soundtrack is the film’s title track, “By Any Means,” performed by the legendary Isley Brothers alongside David Kushner and written by acclaimed songwriter Diane Warren specifically for the film. The album also brings new life to iconic R&B classics, including Pynk Beard’s powerful rendition of “We Shall Overcome,” alongside reimagined favorites like Nina Simone’s “I Love Your Lovin Ways,” Sam Cooke’s “Bring It on Home to Me,” The Impressions’ “Talking About My Baby,” and The Ronettes’ “Be My Baby,” among several other instantly recognizable classics.
Released by Anzie Blue Records and executive produced by Hit-Boy, co-founder of Surf Club, and Dr. Blum, By Any Means, The Album extends the film’s story beyond the screen—bringing timeless songs and fresh interpretations together to honor the era while introducing its music to a new generation.

Pynk Beard served as the musical director and curator of By Any Means, The Album, bringing together a diverse group of artists he believed were uniquely suited to the story and spirit of the film. He helped rally a remarkable collective of musicians spanning generations—from legendary and established artists to some of today’s most exciting emerging voices—creating a soundtrack that connects the past, present, and future of Black music.
